Our Green Commitment
Most of our food is made fresh on the premises, where possible from locally sourced ingredients to reduce food miles. We have just introduced a widescale recycling programme which will deal with our paper, cans and cardboard. Our oil is turned into eco-diesel, and we are hoping to get our food waste taken by a local recycling initiative to create compost in a "Rocket" hot composter.
We are looking at all our systems to see where we can reduce our carbon footprint, buying organic, recycled or recyclable products where we can, and increasing our range of fair trade goods on sale. We will shortly introduce our range of t-shirts and hoodies made from organic cotton by a fair-trade supplier, using waterbased inks. We operate a policy of Reduce, Re-use and Recycle throughout our organisation.
As an Activity Centre we have always prided ourselves on the fact that apart from getting to them, all our activities use no fuel and produce no waste, and along with our countryside code of ethics make us one of the most responsible ways you can get a thrill these days. We are also hoping to introduce a carbon offsetting scheme where you can have a tree planted in our mixed hardwood Welsh woodland area.
So what else can we do for you to make your visit a special one?
Why not book a weekend break combining two or more activities with a night in a local hotel? We have a wide selection of B&Bs, Hotels and Hostels we can recommend, and make the booking for you if you prefer. All our accomodation partners are personally checked out by us for your comfort.
