Sally Jayes

13/05/2010

Sally is the Centre Manager. Unfortunately due to her misspent youth she did not have nearly enough time in a canoe, but since coming to White Water Active has taken to it like a duck to water. (Well she looks like a duck in a boat). Sally is normally to be found buried under piles of paper in the office but comes up for air occasionally to help raise money for charity. Well any excuse for donning a silly wig. Sally is from Keswick, in the Lake District and grew up on the shore of Derwent Water. Sailing and riding took first place as she grew up and she has gone on to compete at Cross Country and Show Jumping, as well as enjoying sailing in the Bahamas, the Mediteranean and off the Florida Keys. More recently Sally and Jim became Padi Divers, gaining their Advanced Dive Certificate in Thailand. Both Sally and Jim enjoy road cycling when they get the chance and hope to develop this sport, but currently Jim is still heavily involved in Slalom Kayaking which takes up a lot of his time. The recent (18 months ago) opening of their shop Eddylines Adventure is a new project for them both and they are really enjoying the challenge of a new startup business.

Sally loves running the centre, working with all the great people in the business, and based at such a lovely spot on the banks of the River Dee. There can be no better view from an office window than watching Rafters paddle by, or a lone heron fishing in the early morning sunshine.

Sally is the one on the right in the photo. The tall lady is Lesley, a lovely lady with a heart of gold and a strange attraction for doing foot massages.
